Here is a website that gives detailed instructions on flying first class *domestic US flights* for cheap! It's really easy and you can usually find great deals even if you don't fly first class. Essentially you go to the website, click on search first class fare, and just follow the directions on searching a flight (choose departure/arrival place, dates, times). "These discount first class tickets are the airline industry's best-kept secret. Called Y-Ups, they price like a coach ticket, they look like a coach ticket, but when you sit down, you are one seat behind the pilot -- and they serve warm cookies. Always check Y-Ups when traveling at the last minute, or if you miss your flight. You may be rewarded with a confirmed first class seat for around the same price." Yes sounds good! I usually travel dressed in a suite. If the tourist class seats are overbooked which they often are some tourist class passengers get upgraded, and they always pick people who are dressed nicely and stand close to the counter. I've gotten upgraded a couple of times.
