Is it true that they don't accept written receipts for proof of child care? Even if I already provided a notarized letter from the provider?

Your return has been processed. A direct deposit of your refund is scheduled to be issued on (APRIL 01, 2010). If your refund is not credited to your account within 15 days of this date, check with your bank to find out if it has been received.

Hello Everyone. I filled my return around February 10th and received my federal refund within 9 days and was still waiting for NY until this morning. I was so happy to finally see that I should have a direct deposit on April 1st. Glad NY did not hold our money until June or July as they were discussing.

E-filed on 2/15 with estimated direct deposit on 2/26. As of today estimated direct deposit moved to 4/1 and if not received within 15 days, contact NYS. Good luck. Only need the refund to pay IRS. Wonder if IRS will wait?

Officials in New York insist that while there is currently a halt in the issuing of state refund checks, it is only for two more weeks, and only because the state cannot issue any more refunds until the new fiscal year starts on April 1. On April 1, we'll release that $500 million to around 700,000 individuals, with no other delays after that," Brad Maione, a spokesman for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance told ABC News.

Just got the update on NYS tax refund. The new york state said it won't be issuing its checks until the start of the new fiscal year, which begins on April 1. A final decision is pending to delay the new york state tax refunds further. Those who still didn't get the DD dates, guess will have to wait till April 1. Do share your views on this forum but please no hate message or personal remarks. Keep it clean and to the point

I filed and mailed my tax return on Feb 12, it's been one month already and i still haven't received my tax return. On the website it says "We received your refund and it's on its final stage of processing, usually refunds can take 2 weeks, but sometimes can take 4 weeks". Is anyone else getting this? How much longer should I continue to wait? I am expecting to receive up to 2 thousand dollars. Help!

I always file my returns in January. I get my federal refund in mid-February. New York always takes until April. Why?

It's been on the news... Governor Patterson is now holding NYS State refunds until June. Something to do with the state deficit.

State accepted feb 17th, been in final stages ever since. I am expecting under $700, suppose I'll have to make no plans for Monday so I can spend the whole day trying to reach someone on the phone. Has anyone recieved theirs without getting a DD date? Or is that another step before they release it?

Actually you can call in now at 800 225 5829 Option 3 then option 2 .. Follow the prompt as if you have a question about ur tax return not about ur refund and you'll be transferred to an operator... Once the operator comes on just let them know u have a question about ur return and the operator will transfer you to a representative

today is exactly one month since i e-filed, and just one day shy of one month since my return was accepted both on the federal and state level...when i check the ny state tax website for my return's status, i STILL get the same message: "usually 2 weeks, but can take up to 4." well it's 4 weeks, and i'm STILL waiting. single parent in this horrible economy, in one of the most expensive states in which to live...come on. i need my $ please, thank you. it would definitely be a shame if the state is trying to hold on to our money for a certain amount of time for whatever reason, especially without informing us. isn't it always funny that when we OWE on anything at all, the creditor wants their money IMMEDIATELY, but now that we're the ones who are on the receiving end, the payee takes his slow time. that's just a shame. absolutely a shame.
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 03/15/2010 - 01:27.
yes, you are absolutely correct, it's a damn shame. Government always takes our money whenever they feel like it, but when it's time for them to give their shares, they don't want to. I am in the same situation as you, on my status it says it's usually done in two weeks but may take up to 4 weeks, it's been a month and I have yet to receive my tax return. Aggravated yes, frustrated yes,

I Just received a message saying that my return required further review. What is going on in Albany? Some how I think the 84% they are reffering to are with the unicorns and Lepracons of the state...its a mythical number. They are doing this to the majority of people!

I wish that if NYS were holding our taxes for whatever reason that they would just be up front and honest!! They demand our money every payday like clockwork and get it and they can't just be honest with the citizens of this state... whom they are suppose to represent!!

I filed through Turbotax on January 29, 2010. I received my IRS refund within 5-7 days. I still have not received my NY state refund and I did e-file. They say that most refunds are 2-4 weeks and I am going on 6 weeks now. I am expecting a state refund of $2,383 and think it is ridiculous for our corrupt NY politicians to have our refunds held hostage. As it is we didn't get any star program rebate checks last year. Budget issues aside taxpayers should get their refunds in a timely manner!

everything was the same for my family from 2009 and 2010 but when I did my taxes this year H&R Block Home tells me I owe $1200 instead of receiving $1400. I used an accountant last year but I thought I could do it myself. My federal came out exactly the same. Does anybody have a clue why this might have happened?

Without a doubt H&R Block made a mistake I would take the return back and ask what happen if the State dont catch the mistake

For 2 yrs in a row we had trouble with H&R Block. After my taxes were done wrong 2 yrs in a row, I decided to use a real accountant. I was refunded last year, what they missed prior.

To the crybaby that responded to my previous post. FYI I have not gotten my money as of yet. But coming on this forum and crying like the little bitch you are, only proves one thing. You are a little bitch. You will get your money like everyone else and when it comes perhaps you can get some diapers for the shit coming out of your mouth. Oh and have a nice day.

The IRS also adjusted my tax return. They told me directly how much it was adjusted. Really it would only take a few more lines of code and a variable to tell you how much. The suspense is killing me.

For everyone, NYS Taxation updates Refund Status on Mondays,
Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 03/10/2010 - 23:50.
Yup I was told it update daily also I've been 3 weeks with the final stage message I filed bak on jan 22 and still nothing its very frustrating.

I asked them what day their refund site updates. I was told every day. They said as soon as the returns are processed the status will update. I had to pay nys this year but my son is expecting a nice refund and needs it. It's been in the same "we've received your return and it's in the final stages of processing" status for going on two weeks. now. I love living in ny. It is expensive for sure. but, I wouldn't move just so i could get a refund quicker at the end of the years as i've seen some people say. It's bad all over.
