E-file accepted on April 15 -- Website states approved on April 17. It is June 15, no refund. When I track my status it gives me a phone number to call customer service. After entering the same information via phone, I get transferred to customer service and placed on hold. A recording comes on stating no one is available to help and then disconnects. Frustrating! I call daily and get the same recording.

Sent my return certified mail on April 1st and status shows 'no record of receipt' on the FTB site. I'm keeping paper trails and phone log on the FTB so I don't get hit with any penalties.

Just checked the refund status site and they are now 'in process' with my return and also noted they did receive my return on April 12th. They are not updating their status site as often as they should. Please continue to check daily...good luck.

I mailed my return 2/20/10. When I ckecked on their website it says after 8 weeks , We have no records of your 2009 tax return. What are they doing???? Throwing away our taxpapers, just to waste more time to delay the return????
Shame on California tax board.

My e-file status remained "pending" for days until April 15 came, at which time I just printed out my state return and submitted a paper copy to CA FTB to avoid being accused of missing the filing deadline date. Didn't know, and still don't, whether your date of filing is determined by the "pending" or "accepted" status.
Stated another way, does a "pending" status prior to April 15 mean that your tax return was submitted and received prior to deadline, or do you need to receive an "accepted" status prior to April 15 to comply with the deadline date? I've never seen this addressed. In contrast, my federal return was "accepted" within a couple hours after e-filing.
In reading the other posts, I suspect that CA is using delay tactics in issuing refunds.

I mailed in my return on 2/12/10. Website says it's has no information return or refund and to call. I called three separate times this week and a recording said I would have to speak to someone but they have too many calls and can't answer. Ridiculous.

I sent in on March 16 and received no refund. Checked for status and received a line that they have no record of our 2009 tax return in their files. Has anyone got this message?
I have the proof of mailing from the post office but it will be a hassle to deal with the Franchise tax board. :(

Im glad im not the only one getting this message, i was worried that it was lost in the mail, that would be lame, i guess they are so behind that they cant even spare people the worry of it possibly being lost in the mail or not, they should at least confirm that they have it! :-) oh well, we march on..... I guess.

I e-filed march 1st and received my federal refund via direct deposit the week after but I still have not received my state refund. I called and all they told me is that it is processing and no further info is available and he did not know when I will be receiving my refund. My sister e-filed 2 weeks after me and has already received her state refund check in the mail in 1 1/2 weeks! I thought it was suppose to be faster if you choose direct deposit =(

When I go online it says that they received my info on February 1st. I called today and the woman told me that it's "still pending...but everything looks okay." What does that mean? She couldn't tell me when I should receive it. UGH!!!

i e-filed my return on March 7th and received my federal tax return in 4 days but today is April 5th and i have not received my state tax return. i called them and they said that its still processing and i need to check back in a week! is the state deliberately delaying to try and rip you off?

I used the California Franchise Tax Board's own website to file my return on 2/15. As of April 1st, I still haven't received my refund. I tried using their website to check the status of my refund, but it says I have to call for my status. I've called twice. They said it's something about the fact that I'm a federal employee. Apparently they have to do some extra verification when you are a federal employee. How ridiculous is that?

Filed and sent in February 2010...its April 1, 2010, still no refund....direct deposit as well. This refund was to cover my upcoming property taxes due April 10, 2010. When I'm late they'll charge me...but when the state is late...nothing. This is too much.
