Those complaining that you need your money to live, then consider claiming more dependents on your weekly/bi-weekly/monthly check in order to have your money 'pay check to pay check' instead of allowing the government to have it to invest. What you get back at the end of the year when you file your return was your money to begin with. Why give it to the gov. from your paycheck, to invest, if you don't have to? I would much rather have my money now....on my paycheck....to meet my obligations, then receive it at the end of the year in a big refund of some kind. Wouldn't you??? Just increase your dependents on your paycheck where you work, claim the exact amount on your return, and you should break even or get back only a small refund. But, check where you stand with the gov. ever so often to make sure you are meeting the tax requirements during the year or you may end up owing. By doing this, deduct the standard deduction and personal exemption/s allowance from your total income, take that balance and find it on the tax table and see how much federal tax is required on that amount. Find total Federal tax paid on your check stub and see how you stand.

I received my federal refund on feb 20.I never received my state as of yet. I filed direct dep with e-file for an extra charge but still waiting. This is horrible an if I had to pay state I would make sure they would wait months for my money. They better get on the roll because April 16 they will hear my mouth....

I'm not sure what the other posts are about on this site, these "keys" and long distance calls, phone cards etc.,,but since i started posting on here, i have rec. two very long distance calls from the deminican republic, and pakistan. I have roadrunner, and i am afraid someone has tapped into my phone line. I have instructed my family not to to answer these calls, as once they are answered, the number will be billing my account. Please be aware of this scam. I will not revisit this site.

I read everyone' complaints, and it appears we are all in the same boat. Can't get my NY State tax refund. We got the Fed, but only got processing message for the NY tax. I am hopping they don't start a new law or new rule and steal my money. Hey, NY needs money. Not AIG's or Wall Street $$, but miserable hard working money. What can we do if they decide to pull a fast one? I sure hope that I am just dreaming. I NEED THIS MONEY NOW, so so much to pay.

said "What can we do if they decide to pull a fast one?" Absolutely nothing. They have all the power. Vote differently next time.

I filed my taxes using TurboTax via irs.gov. I filed on March 15, 2009. I cannot access any information re my refund. What is the point of filing online if you have to wait months on end? This is not the first time. What is the point? Am I going to have to neglect paying my taxes in order to get the representatives to even speak with me? I am tired of pressing 1 or 2 or whatever number is assigned to their automated system. At least tell me *something*.

I understand all of your frustration. I filed my NY and Federal taxes at the same time by e-file, paid the extra $20 for e-file on 1/22 and nothing. Now it's saying that I should receive my refund within 30 days. My federl was direct deposited 3 weeks after filing. Why is it that the NY state tax dept takes so long and they are only processing NY residents taxed and that the federal gov't who processes everyone's taxes can get it done in a couple of weeks? Maybe their filing bankrupt and stealing our money, lol! (Not funny really, I'm just starting to wonder)

screw Arnold and all his new taxes. NO on props 1A through 1F. And everybody CHANGE your State dependence at your work so that the State will not have your money for the year to play with. I too used to use the taxes as a forced savings but not any more. SCREW them! We all have to live within our means. The politicians have to live within they're means, NOT RAISE OUR TAXES. PISS OFF arnold!!!

I am one of the people who filed their taxes on Jan. 16th. I received my Federal on the 6th of Feb, but I have yet to receive my State. I am sick of going on their website for it to say they received my information & its still processing..I mean how long does it take to process? From Jan to March they can't give a better answer by now? I am soooo fed up. I have things to do with my money.
