TomTom 6 on n95 Installation Tutorial

Many people asked me about TomTom6 Installation on Nokia N95 with or without using the inbuilt GPS. People also asked me if it works with the external bluetooth receiver.

I guess i will make a post and try to help on How to Install TomTom6 Navigator on Nokia N95.

TomTom 6 works fine on the N95 with an external bluetooth receiver. Rumours are that TomTom are working on patch to use the SirfII GPS on the phone.

Summary of install instructions, assuming that you have a micro-sd card with enough space (Western Europe seamless map is 1GB already!!)

1. Check you have enough space on sd card
2. Install TomTom Software (TomTom home)
3. Connect N95 to PC/Mac USB connection, ensure you have seleted USB mass storage device on the phone interface(Do not use PC suite settings otherwise TomTom will not detect the device)
3. Select TomTom software (Symbian S60 series 3) and the relevant map/s you want to install and install
4. That should be it and then you can go on and configure TomTom, bluetooth GPS (external) , device unlock and personal preferences.

I can confirm that if TomTom Navigator 6 is supplied on 512Mb miniSD, copying all contents (showing hidden files) to microSD, it will install normally on N95.
