certain calls to ether appear to be blocked

i am not aware of any ether accounts being blocked from receiving calls. however after some testing it does appear that ether is blocking calls from certain sources. they only seem to be accepting calls with a valid caller ID.  also calls from most voip services including earthcaller, skype, and gizmo as well as most of the option i have for free calls to USA toll free numbers now seem to be blocked. i hear a recording from ether that the number has been blocked. callback continues to be reliable. and using UK personal numbering still allows connections between any two phones in almost any country free of charge. the odd thing is this costs AT&T/ether significantly more than what they would pay allowing toll free calls.

has anyone reading this had there actual ether account blocked? if so please try to provide some details as to what you think may have caused the blockage(such as heavy use always from the same number?) so that we can thread carefully and continue to take advantage of the amazing deal.

all my ether accounts listings have now been blocked. i suspect that they matched the IP address since a couple accounts/listings had practically no usage. all phone numbers connected in any way(inbound/outbound) to the accounts have also been blocked.

it seems that at least for now if you hit the cancel button when asked for credit card details and than go back to the ether homepage and log in using the user name and password that you selected your account will still work. you will need to enter your destination phone number again. but you will receive an email with your pin and not be asked again for crdit card info.

I had created one account for myself and 2 accounts for my family. All of them are currently blocked, even though 1 of the accounts was never used.

Maybe they have detected the multiple account creation from a single ip address. Or maybe they have crosschecked the country of origin of the phone numbers and the ip address, which was different.

i can confirm that any new ether account now requires a credit card verification for activation. i see this in two ways. they have chosen not to limit the ability to use ether in another way as a result of the publicity of this hack; so many people will continue to be able to use the ether hack. on the other hand you will need to provide credit card details. in the USA it is very easy to obtain a prepaid credit card that could be used for this purpose; in other countries this may be a bit harder. please post any experience here.
