William Hamilton McWhorter Jordan, or better known as Hamilton Jordan during his lifetime, passed away peacefully yesterday at the ripe old age of 63. He succumbed to cancer and was surrounded by close friends and family when he died in his Atlanta home approximately 730PM on May 20th.

Jordan was best known for being former president Jimmy Carter’s aide but he was also a deeply respected political strategist and served as chief of staff in the White House. Amazingly, Jordan persevered for more than two decades when he battled the advanced stages of cancer for 22 years.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma, melanoma and prostate cancer before losing the battle for good. I think he’s a jolly good sort of person who kept thinking positively, trudging on with life even though he was dealt with one thunderous blow after another. Rest in peace, Hamilton Jordan.

I am sorry to hear this it is not a very old age 63.  We need more good political strategist's like Hamilton Jordan.  He has battled cancer for a very long time and has been a living miracle.  I hope his memories and righteous ways will be remembered for a long time.  God Bless his family.
