American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2010 has helped Many American states with their own Rebate Programs and The Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program is one of several energy-related programs of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that is administered by the Ohio Department of Development's Energy Resources Division. The total funding allocated to the State of Ohio for the rebate program, including administration, is $11,020,000.

The Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program 2010 will begin from March 26 2010 and you can get details about the program at www.ohioappliancerebate.com. On March 26, Ohio residents can reserve and redeem their rebates for the purchase of eligible ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances. The new appliances will replace old inefficient appliances and help Ohio consumers to lower their energy and water bills. New appliances must be purchased during the Program, and old appliances must be hauled away and recycled so they are no longer used.

The following Energy Star Appliances are Eligible for Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program 2010:
  • Refrigerators,
  • Clothes washers,
  • Dishwashers,
  • Electric heat pump water heaters,
  • High-efficiency gas storage water heaters.
Once this program is LIVE on March 26 2010, Ohio residential consumers should visit the website often for updates and to learn the steps to reserve and redeem their rebate for ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances.

Once Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program is implemented, the Ohio state expects to replace over 89,000 inefficient appliances with more efficient appliances.

How long does it take to tell you you DO NOT get a rebate? I am so disappointed in this rebate program I could scream. I have been since April 2010 trying to get my $100 rebate and have even resorted to getting my Ohio State Rep. involved. I have submitted all of my info twice and have called the Ohio appliance rebate 3 times to figure out what they are saying. You all know that this has been taken out of the state in order to save money. Well, it that is the case, where is mine? I am tired of waiting and tired of fighting for what has been promised.

My wife and I are completely satisfied with our new refrigerator, getting rid of our "Klunker 'frige'" and after a reasonable wait, receiving our $100.00 rebate check. However, the unexpected happened when our new, young, tom-cat pushed the check off of my computer desk and proceeded to chew it up to point that our MainSource bank branch refused to cash it. Seriously, please advise us what to do with the check. It is dated June 1, 2010 and so we have until Sept. 1 to solve the problem. I bought an energy star washer from Lowes the 1st day of the rebate program and returned my rebate form the second day of the program. Ten weeks later, I received a post card stating "product limit exceeded" Now you tell me if this is not a "rip off". If I EVER HAD ANY TRUIT IN THE GOVERNMENT BEFORE NOW, NEVER AGAIN.
