Latest COE Prices in Singapore by LTA

In Singapore COE prices for small cars plunged to a historic low of S$2, All car showrooms are seeing a 10—fold increase in visitors. However, most of just window shopping. With real bad economy and job cuts people are just not yet taking a risk of buying a car.

The COE price for small cars, 1,600cc and below, dived by S$10,453 to a historic low of S$2 in the latest bidding exercise.

For big cars (more than 1,600cc), the COE went down S$3,412 to S$4,889.

Premium for commercial vehicles fell S$2,700 to S$6,189.

For motorcycles, the new COE price stood at S$1,012 - down S$497 from the previous bidding exercise.

Those in the vehicle import and export industry have said they will petition the government to reduce the number of COEs available.

Dealers expect the COE price for small cars to go up to S$6,000 or more at the next bidding, which will be in a fortnight’s time. It will also depend on the Japanese yen’s strength against the Singapore dollar, which is a factor when it comes to the price of Japanese cars here.
