How do I cancel my Walmart money card?

I bought my first Walmart money card without hesitation, when I paid for it the clerk did not give instructions on how to activate the card. My activation number was on the receipt however I did not know because no one explained this to me. So I threw away my receit I have since been back to walmart to get the number, they could not help me. please help me cancel this card.
